Illinois River Trip

Aaron's co-worker's mother (did you follow that?) owns land by the Illinois River, so we went there for an afternoon one Saturday in August. It was great to get away and just "be." The Illinois River reminded me so much of the Niobrara back home. It was a blast.

The same weekend we had an ecoli scare back in Jenks. There were high levels of ecoli found in our drinking water, so we were on a boil alert. You see Zélie drinking the river water? If she wasn't going to get ecoli at home, she was determined to get it from the river.

No one actually got ecoli from either place. Thank You, Jesus.
Now on with the river pictures...
After a couple hours of swimming, we went back to the mobile home to grill some hamburgers. We feasted on classic river food: hamburgers, cheetos, and pop. Zélie was a big fan of the cheetos. She was also a big fan of the camping chairs. She thought she was big stuff perched in them.
Blaise missed his nap for the day. He was out about 5 minutes after we left.
