Funny sayings from 2015

Lucy had to have an ultrasound in December and I took my scientists along with me. Blaise asked about 400 questions in the 20 minutes we were there (really, truly not exaggerating). Later that night, he reported at the dinner table that he got to see Lucy's "gum ladder" that day. Yep, she had a good lookin' gallbladder.

The kids were reading a book with my mom that required them to look at a picture, flip to the back of the book, and then answer questions about the picture to test their memory.
Grandma: What color was Sam's coat?
B&Z: Red!
Grandma: Was anyone in the locker room with them?
B&Z: Yes!
(insert someone tooting on Grandma)
Grandma: Who farted on me?
Blaise: Is that part of the story?
I can just imagine him simultaneously thinking, "What a weird story Grandma's reading to us!"

Zélie had her coat and shoes on and was waiting for me to get Lucy ready so we could pick Blaise up from school. I heard her whisper, "Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault." Guess getting ready was a near occasion to sin for her that morning...?

Blaise came home from school one day anxious to report they were learning the Angel of God prayer. I knew he already knew this one, but apparently they're teaching it differently at good ol' St. T's. He INSISTS it is, "Angel of God, my guardian fear."

We listen to KLOVE in the car, and this song comes on often. It's actually one of my favorites. The lyrics are great to ponder and it just has a really catchy tune. Anyway, I heard Blaise randomly singing the first line of the refrain while getting ready to go outside one day. His version, "I'd love like a mustang!"

Another KLOVE memory: Blaise and Zélie were playing house. Blaise instructed Zélie to call him, "My number is 1-800-525-5683." The number stopped me in my tracks - where had I heard that? Ah, ha! KLOVE had just finished up their pledge drive that week, so we had been listening to that number over and over whenever we went anywhere in the car. I started laughing out loud, and Blaise got a funny grin on his face and buried his head in the lazy-boy. We all ended up laughing about it and still often joke about "525-5683." I love that we're starting to have family inside jokes - ones that we all get, not just Aaron and me!

Zélie was WILD one day in the grocery store and it continued into the car. She would not sit down in her carseat and simply could not stop giggling (this isn't a funny giggle - it's a "I'm misbehaving" giggle). Blaise, very diplomatically, suggested to me," Tell her to stop playing games, Mom" and then without taking a breath addressed Zélie, "Zélie, these are the games I play with Dad." It took me a second to catch on, but when I realized what he had ACTUALLY just said - what he had admitted to!! - I was the one who couldn't stop giggling! I promptly texted Aaron to tell him that he was, in fact, being played. We often wondered...

This one is especially for John and Amy:
Driving in the car...
Zélie: Mom, I farted.
Me: I know.
(short pause)
Zélie: Can you smell it?
Me (laughing): Yes!

There was a bit of backtalk one night to Dad. "But, Dad! But, Dad," to which he replied in his dad voice, "No buts!" Blaise and Zélie looked at each other and cracked up. "No butts! No butts! No butts!" they sang. From time to time, one of them will randomly burst out "No butts!" and the other will join in fits of giggles. Totally something my siblings and I would've done!
