A few funnies from back in the day.
I got done mowing and lamented that the blades needed sharpening because the grass was so uneven. That started a conversation about how blades are sharpened. After I got done with my explanation Blaise said, "You know what else we could use to sharpen the blades? A sword." Hmmm....we'll have to ask Dad about that.
Zélie walked into the room naked one afternoon and Blaise exclaimed, "WHY is Zélie naked?" as if it was the biggest surprise in the whole world. The girl NEVER wore clothes. In fact, the neighbors often commented, "Oh! Zélie has clothes on today." I have no idea why Blaise was so surprised by Zélie's lack of clothes that particular day.
Aaron took Blaise to Home Depot to pick up our replacement window. When they got home, Blaise busted through the back door and we had this conversation:
Blaise: The lady gave me some birds!
Me (very confused): Some birds?
Blaise: Yeah! They were pink and crunchy. (pause) And I ate them.
Me: You ate...birds.
Blaise: Yes!
Enter Aaron: The cashier gave him some candy when we checked out.
Me: What kind?
Aaron: Nerds.
Ahhhhh.....
Blaise was disgusted after Lucy's baptism at the "grease" on her forehead. I assured him it was the best smelling grease he'd ever come across.
Zélie had many (constant) one liners about Lucy:
"Hold baaaaby!" = I want to hold the baby.
"Eyes open!" = Her eyes are open, Mom, in case you didn't notice.
"Baby crying. Mama." = The baby is crying. She wants mom.
"Baby awake!" = The baby is awake.
A couple of other adorable Zélie phrases:
My pants rahl down! = My pants fell down.
Me ROUND it! = I found it!
