December: Blaise's Baptism Day

December 18th. Blaise's Baptism Day.
I don't know why I didn't get a picture of our kitchen table. It wasn't anything fancy, but I did put out his baptismal candle, a picture of his baptism day in a pretty frame, and the white garment that was given to Zélie on her baptism day. No, that's not a typo. Blaise didn't get one, at least not one that we brought home, so we used Zélie's.

There was also the holy water from his baptism day. Father Holdren brought a bottle of holy water to us at the reception and said that he took it from the baptismal font. I'm so thankful that he did this because I would've never thought about it! And what a beautiful, concrete reminder to a child of their baptism. We only get that bottle out on baptism days, and everyone gets a tiny drop on their finger to bless themselves.
Always excited to open another present.
We got him a St. Michael the Archangel statue.
I tried my hand at making a cross cake. It was crazy easy. Take a 9X13 inch cake. Cut it in half the long way, piece those pieces together, and cover with frosting. We took it to Bible study that night because, again, our little family of four just can't (or shouldn't, rather) eat that much cake.
What a cheeser.
