October: Tulsa State Fair

Like the football games in Oklahoma, everyone RAVES about the Tulsa State Fair. When people found out we were new to Tulsa last year, they told us we just HAD to check out the fair.

So this year, we did.

"Yay! We're going to the fair!"
We were babysitting for some friends that day, so Miss Mary came along for the fun.

It really is quite an entrance.

And it really was something to rave about.
Coming from small town Nebraska, I had never seen anything like this before. What you see here is maybe a sixth of the rides, games, and food that is there. Come to think of it, the food probably impressed me the most: rows upon rows of vendors selling almost anything you can think of fried and on a stick.

We found a petting zoo that the kiddos enjoyed.

We walked through only a small portion of the exhibits.
My mom makes skeletons like these with her school kids. I may be biased, but hers are much better. :)

As we were leaving, we saw this:
(check out the license plate)
The Tulsa State Fair MUST be good if someone is driving all the way from North Dakota!
