Two weeks after our string of visitors we were off on our own road trip back to The Good Life to spend some time catching up with our college friends. The weekend started on a Friday afternoon. Blaise and I picked Aaron up early from work, making our ETA in Atchison, KS, 7pm. Twenty minutes after we left Tulsa, Blaise and I were pacing along the side of the highway watching Aaron change our first flat tire. What a way to start a trip! We took the Escape back to the nearest suburb of Tulsa and purchased a couple of new tires. Thank you, Dave Ramsey, for teaching us about an emergency fund.
Three hours and one dirty diaper later, we were on our way.
We spent the night in Atchison with Matt, Erin, and Ava. They treated us to the most delicious breakfast the next morning complete with fresh cow's milk - straight from the udder! Mmm, mmm, good! I should mention that they do not actually own a cow; they purchase the milk from a farmer in the area.
After everyone was showered, the six of us caravanned to Lincoln where our friends Logan, Lynn, and Augustine generously opened their home to us and several of our Lincoln friends. We spent the afternoon talking, laughing, and watching the babies "play" with each other.

Look at those beautiful smiles! I am confident that one day Blaise will learn how to do the same.

SO CUTE!
Lynn, Erin, and I got to take the final picture in our series of pregnancy/baby pictures.
LOVE IT!
The afternoon went by way too fast, but the fun wasn't over yet! Blaise, Aaron, and I jumped in our car for the quick drive over to Omaha where we were greeted by our friends Andy, Kristin, and James. At the time, James was just a week shy of his first birthday. He had much fun playing with Blaise, although Blaise was a little wary of his bigger friend. Soon enough they'll be getting along just fine and causing much mischief!

Andy and Aaron having fun with Excel. Have I mentioned that Andy, too, is an engineer? Aaron enjoys having someone to speak engineerese with.Sunday morning came and went quickly and before we knew it we were on our way back to Oklahoma. Blaise made the 7 hour drive like a CHAMP with only one strong outburst of fury. Phew. That gave me more confidence in the success of our next road trip: Oklahoma City.
