Snowmaggedon. That's what many called the winter storm that blasted through north eastern Oklahoma the first part of February. I must say, it was quite the storm, but the only reason it turned into Snowmaggedon was the lack of snow plows. At any rate, I can't complain because it meant 2 1/2 snow days for Aaron! (The public schools didn't have school for two weeks straight!)
Here we are giving Dad the thumbs up!
THIS is the kind of winter we're used to.
The view out our front door.

And from the garage.

Again, the drift from our garage.

The view of our street.
Please note the lack of tracks. It remained this way for a day and a half until an ATV floated through. His tracks didn't help us get out, though. We had to wait until a couple of brave neighbors with trucks blazed a path down the street, and even then, Aaron had to get a push from the neighbor two doors down. We hadn't met them yet, so what a great excuse to introduce ourselves.
We had to get pictures of Blaise and his first snow!
Aaron thinks this reindeer suit is silly, but I think he looks adorable, especially with that cheesy grin.

He did NOT like being outside.
I can't blame him. It was chilly for a guy his size.
Check out his mittens.
But once we got back inside, he was all smiles.

After we got back from grocery shopping one day, the snow was so tantalizing that Aaron and I just couldn't resist a snowball fight. There we were, running up and down our driveway and out into the street flinging snowballs at each other. Blaise slept peacefully in his car seat (as shown below) while the neighbors watched the crazy Nebraskans frolic in their element.

The next pictures were taken before we were able to get out of our house. Aaron is such a good swaddler, and I've always been curious as to what it feels like to be swaddled, so I had him "wrap me up" as we call it.
Can you say cabin fever?
So, we survived Snowmaggedon 2011. I'm told not to get my hopes up for a repeat next year or ever, really. This much snow for a season hasn't been seen in almost 90 years. Let's just hope we don't have a record breaking summer...
